PSA: Annual Wet Leaves Reminder

Don't blow your leaves into the street!!! Bag them, mulch them, whatever, but the street is not your personal disposal area. In many places this is illegal.

We see this all the time. Drives me NUTS. Same when they do it with snow but that's a whole 'nuther story!

What's funny (to me) is now some of our local TV stations are posting warnings on their websites. I've never seen this before and it's not like wet leaves are a new phenomenon.

I suspect many here are conscious of driving conditions and your warning is a great reminder. However there are those who you see driving their towed rigs, MH's, etc. at extremely high speeds and are proud of it. I suspect your warning just falls on a lot of deaf ears.

Good luck with that, around here when it snows or rains many drive faster just to show off their driving skills and autos capabilities ( of which they don't have nor understand). They buy a 4 wheel drive and figure they're the king of the road and the world revolves around them.

I live in rural area and drive to the suburbs for work. The road into town in the winter is loaded with knuckle heads lining the ditches after every snow. Seen them passing or tailgaiting and then the show begins.

I suspect many here are conscious of driving conditions and your warning is a great reminder. However there are those who you see driving their towed rigs, MH's, etc. at extremely high speeds and are proud of it. I suspect your warning just falls on a lot of deaf ears.

Wait until you meet a jumping choya, or a tumbling weed, black ice does exist in the desert, and do not be scared if a jackaolpe runs out in front of you at night, sand on the pavement can be tricky to drive on.

Yeah, they are places where the citizens don't know what leaves and trees are. LOL But personally I haven't seen large cactus either so they would probably need to warn me about that. Even trade :D

Just the wet leaves without any ice under them can create a skid condition going round corners or braking your vehicle on straight sections.
