Quick Disconnect - Water Softener

As GoPackGo states "it depends".

With the GARDENA brand of quick diconnects there are hose ends both male and female that can be either pass through or blocked. By looking at/through the fitting you can tell which is which.

"If it is disconnected, does water still come out, or does it act like the hose fittings on air tanks."

It depends. Some state that the flow of water stops when disconnected and I have some of those - very handy. But with others, once you disconnect, the water will still come out until you physically turn it off.

I was in the garden section of Home Depot the other day looking at the fitting options, I think Gardena is what they have. There was even a starter kit. I will look to purchase that sometime this weekend. Thanks for the help guys!

I will probably put it on my splitter as well, since it have the boy helping me out. He screwed the hose on the splitter the other day so we could flush our black tank, only to find that he did not tighten it all the way, this should allow him to execute this part properly.

Have had mine for a few years....No problems. One for the city water hookup.....one for the black tank rinse and a few others to connect hoses together.

I have found and use a variety of the GARDENA brand of quick disconnects. They are made of plastic but last for years. The quick disconnect starter kit is your best buy.

I bought the brass ones at Home Depot. Other than the one bad one I bought, they are all working well and they make life a lot easier. I have two filters and the water softener. Hooks ups are much better and I do not worry about overtightening and breaking something, as I did once on the water softener.
