How about personal experience towing with a 1/2 ton load levelers and sway control that was setup by a professional shop many years ago. I ended up 180 rolled 360 and separated from trailer with it laying on the side. I had come down a long grade with a big sweeping corner trailer started to sway could not get it correct trailer past me on the right and am lucky to be here.
Towed the same trailer MANY times with a Dually no sway or leveling, rock solid. The 1/2 ton was the problem.
So yea I do have experience in this arena.
More personal experience. I investigated a bad rollover wreck a couple years ago. Ford F350 towing a Bobcat style wheeled loader. Going down a hill, lost control and flipped the truck. Plenty of truck, plenty of trailer. Driver has been towing this rig for years with no problems. Problem was that this particular time he loaded his Bobcat a little further to the rear, reducing tongue weight. Going down the hill he picked up a little speed, sway got worse and took over.
The one ton truck was NOT the problem in this equation. There are many moving parts when towing. Its not so easy to look at a picture and diagnose a "problem". - 2012ColemanExplorer II

I think your right. A google image search produced this story.
I'd bet $20 that's an aluminum 4 place snowmobile trailer. The v-nose and what looks like a ramp door is my reasoning. BTW, I believe it says CFMOTO on the ramp door. A Canadian company that makes 4 wheelers, side by sides and motorcycles. - Cloud_DancerExplorer II"Pilot error",...failure to recognize/consider the limitations of the equipment.

If the "Dually" comment was directed to me, I went for a Dually flatbed for the carrying capacity.
If not, carry on! - Grit_dogNavigator III'll be first in with "dodged a moose" theory.....
Or maybe "shoulda had a dually" theory combined with no wdh. We all know that means certain disaster...lol
Edit, oops already have the shoulda had a dually theory presented. - larry_barnhartExplorerHalf tons are ok for the load if it is light. Way would a 2500 or 3500 be made? To haul or tow heavier loads. It is that simple.

Looks to be a Ford, based upon the front bumper it APPEARS to be a Super Duty. Many possible reasons for a crash. Hopefully the occupants are okay, that cab looks pretty damaged. That is a LOT of weight for the truck and the trailer on top of it, crushing that A and B pillar.
As camping season starts, I encourage everyone to remain vigilant while driving and get to your destination SAFELY to enjoy your vacations!
Not that it matters but that is a F150.
It very well could matter, 150 or 1500's have typically softer tire sidewalls and springs and can play into a bad scenario with a tow behind.
Unless you have more info than the pic it is just keyboard conjecture. All we have is a picture of a pickup with a cargo/motorsports trailer on it.

Compliments on a correct, true and logical statement!..:W
