- LindsayRichardsExplorerNot sure what you think the problem is here. The US oil exported to Canada is used to lower the viscosity of the Canadian oil so it can be used. Canada uses it's oil domestically and exports the rest. The US gets 99% of the Canadian oil exported. Canada is the largest importer of oil to the US. We are their only customer (99%) and our exporting our light oil allows this to happen.
- RambleOnNWExplorer IINo mention of "dilution oil" here:
"... other exporters like Valero Energy, which sends U.S. oil to its Quebec refinery"
"the U.S. Department of Commerce has issued 43 licenses over the last six months allowing companies to export U.S. oil for use by Canadian refineries"

It makes the Canadian thick surface oil thinner and more usable. Volume has gone way up as their deposits have increased. It is used in Canada and shipped back to the US mixed in with their oil. Much is shipped thru Keystone XL One and much is shipped back via rail by Obama's buddy. If the conspiracy theory guys here know of any other, lets turn them in and get them put in jail for breaking the federal laws. There may even be a reward. If you don't want us to sell the light oil mentioned in the article, tell your congressman as Obama's folks have to approve it.

Our new favourite largs european city. Like all the spanish cities and towns we have seen, incredibly clean, excellent transportation and very green. Apparently the second greenest city in the world with huge trees and flowers hers everywhere. Reasonable prices and lots to do no matter what time of the day it is. Reccomend this as a destination for anyone. Again renting bikes is a good way to go if you are doing lots of miles. For stuff further out use the metro. Again watch for pickpockets. No real violent crime here, just little stuff. Spending a few more days here and then off to Segovia.
Hasta luego. - tomman58Explorer

Condensate oil is light crude oil minimally processed with the volatile gases removed, and itself can be refined into gasoline and diesel. All forms of crude, including light crude and condensate, have not been allowed to be exported (except to Canada) for 40 years.
Also the statement about dilution oil shipments only to Canada -- what oil do you think the train in Lac-Mégantic, Quebec that derailed and exploded contained? Bakken oil.

Most of us do not post here often because of that but there are other threads not so dictator like for you ideas. - RambleOnNWExplorer IICondensate oil is light crude oil minimally processed with the volatile gases removed, and itself can be refined into gasoline and diesel. Contrary is what has been said on this board repeatedly, this is the only oil exported in the last 40 years. Only a small portion of the US oil fits into this category. Its is called dilution oil. This is the best use for this type if highly shale oil. This Texas oil is not crude oil and goes through a distillation process. It will make good fodder for the environmentalist wacko blogs though. If somebody doesn't agree with it and thinks affects prices, they should write the people mentioned in the first sentence of the article. (The Obama Administration). This highly volatile product is sold at a premium as it makes the foreign heavy oil more usable and is a win win for both buyer and seller.
- RambleOnNWExplorer IIPioneer Oil is pushing to be able to export a minimally refined oil known as condensate. This is from the light sweet crude from the Texas shale oil.
So much for the theory that USA oil refiners would get more business refining and exporting gasoline and diesel. The oil extractors like Pioneer can get more money for the crude on the world market.
Read about it here - FezziwigExplorerA person could get tired just contemplating visiting the rich modern history of Barcelona, what with Picasso, Miro, Dali and Gaudi and others. What a riot!
Barcelona is a heritage treasure.
