- LindsayRichardsExplorerThat article quotes the Rueters artical I posted and is factual. The CEO of Toyato also agrees with the demise and says they are moving off to hydrogen for energy storage. Quick chatging has been a few years away for 2 decades. Smart money realizes it anx is investing in the future, not EVs wbich only a few will actually buy.n

In the News: EVs
The article isn't from a reputable news rather it is a far right publication that is against anything green.
The largest efforts right now is for a faster charge system and currently the leader in this field is GM but they are under wraps for any media news.
With the mandate of the higher mileages but a few years away the EV and others will make up the cafe standard so they won't go away. Secondly, with this administration they will continue and with the way the wind is blowing the next administration will keep green for another 8 years.
This is all coupled with the newest generation that wants even more green and higher mileages from their cars at a cheaper cost.

Would you know why diesel, which historically had been cheaper than regular gasoline, became more expensive, virtually overnight a few decades ago? - FezziwigExplorerWouldn't be the first time that a monopoly (pardon me, 'oligopoly), abused their power to screw customers. How's your cellphone bill doing?
- LindsayRichardsExplorerDel, what is the relative BTU's per unit for gas and diesel? If there is a better way of expressing it than BTU's what is that?
Thanks. - DelCamperExplorerMedico
The value of oil does not lay in it's refining but rather it's mass. Diesel is 20% denser than gasoline and hence there is more "oil" in diesel than gasoline. The refining process adds generally 25 cents a gallon while the crude oil is over $2 a gallon. Simply put diesel is more valuable.

Diesel actually takes less steps in the refining process. The cost is higher than gas. This is just to make the oil companies rich. The prices are going up because travel season is approaching. Law of supply and demand. Gas here for regular is high $3.60s and diesel is $4.10 at the cheapest places.
Seems to me that the travel season is still at least 3 months away up here. We don't see leaves on the trees until after ice out by the second week in May. Two stations up here have raised their prices to $3.64 from $3.54 for regular gasoline. Most of the rest are at $3.54 with several still at $3.49. Diesel is creeping up with the highest at $4.17 with the lowest at $3.90. At this rate prices will be at $4.00 by March for gasoline. Hang on tight, fasten the seat belt and have the barf bag ready for a bumpy ride. - MedicoExplorer IIDiesel actually takes less steps in the refining process. The cost is higher than gas. - Gale_HawkinsExplorerI have decided $5.00 is the new norm.
This way when it gets to $4.99 I can still be excited when doing a fill up that it is not $5.00 :B
