RV.net has a new sister site

Maybe they're starting up "RV.COM" so we can start over on the handy hints... thread without paging thru 3,000 entries. That one's been going for 7 years. :)

The first section of the RV.NET forum should give one an indication of who Daddy is.

Affinity purchasing the RV.com domain name doesn't mean they intend to use it as another portal into these forums. If you go to RV.com right now there is just a announcement stating a new site is coming in August.

Just because the President's Club at Camping World wasn't a benefit of Good Sam Club until recently doesn't mean Affinity was doing anything nefarious.

Companies often maintain multiple brand names with separate benefits for buying different brands. Nothing sinister about it.

Then it sure took them long enough to begin to give me President's Club discounts inside Camping World stores when I was only a Good Sam member.

.... and the clerk's - and the company when I called them ... kept mentioning to me that one of the two companies had "recently" bought the other. In fact, I think I was paying to be BOTH a President's Club member of the stores AND separate dues to be a member of the Good Sam Club. I guess what they meant was they had recently just been "combined".

Something doesn't smell right here .... or at least smells real "sloppy" ... probably because the Affinity Group Inc. did indeed leave them separate for a long time, either intentionally to maximize margins or through lack of good business acumen.

I'm pretty sure this purchase has happened fairly recently, because I just last year FINALLY got Good Sam to send me a durable plastic wallet card to carry around and use in Camping World stores for the discounts that I formerly had to be a President's Club member to get. I don't believe there is a "President's Club" anymore - I think that you just need to be a Good Sam Club member to get discounts at Camping World stores that one has purchased the other.

No...it was all the same thing before, but under different names or hats if you want to call it. It's just all more streamlined so to say.

How do you like that?... Yes, Good Sams has many forums, not just RV related... You can simply add the number to the end of the heading of any of their sites and lo and behold... (Not all websites are set up like that, just the way this web master has Good Sams set up...)


On my sites, I do the same thing, basically due to typing mistakes... x.net, x.com, x.us, there are many... No biggie...

The dead giveaway is that all have /26913953.cfm on the end, so as I said, different domain names can point to the same content. Bet you didn't know how many web sites display this forum's content... Wonder if they are owned by the same people.
