If you really think of it maybe more inspection should be required at every check in.
I'm paying for the privilege of putting my kids to sleep within spitting distance of someone who may be fixing to be one drunken lighting of a pilot light away from tragedy.
Maybe a Camper Courtesy test at check in? ;)
Whoa, that's a pretty big leap there, Buckeye. Equating a vehicles age with its owners actions is a non starter.
I have a friend that belongs to a club for RV vintage tin. These people have rigs fronm the 90's and 80's that are in pristime condition because their owners respect themselves and their possessions. My friend just had her 1980's Winnebago painted and it looks factory fresh. She doesn't drink and she loves to go RVing.
I think you misunderstood me. I agree with you. I'd rather see an inspection/test for any age rig than arbitrary age requirements that assume your ability to spend makes you a better camper.
We have a 1995 Fifth Wheel - clean and neat but certainly not new. :) I think we're riff raff ;) but we would pass camper courtesy tests.
My opinion aside, private parks have a right to have their standards and it sounds like they are using it as a tool. We camp state and Army Corps parks with a no alcohol rule. Our experience is that no ranger has ever knocked on my door to scan my kitchen for wine. It has been used to chase out the loud "party hearty" crowd before they even got set up - and I'm okay with that.
