dclark1946.....We had a water bed for 20+ years and loved it. When it went bad we tried a newer version of the water bed and hated it...too stiff. We tried a competitor to Sleep Number and it lasted about a year before we realized we hated it.
We eventually went back to a standard mattress and matching one in the motor home. We bought a new motor home in January and it came with a Sleep Number bed. They've changed since our first one and have more of a pillow top. I would have said never to another Sleep Number, but have found this one is pretty comfortable.
Typically, you only need to adjust the mattress once, once you know the setting you want. So adjust it when you use your generator the first day of your trip and then leave it alone until you drastically change altitude. Even if you change campsites everyday, just adjust it when you arrive with a short generator power up.
