- nav140ExplorerHello everyone, I am new to this forum and I do live in 2005 Cherokee 28A travel trailer. I do have a rotten wood spot on the outer end of the slide out on the corner. does anyone know by chance, a private service out here..thank you.
- Old-BiscuitExplorer IIIMy large slide subfloor was replaced........1" sheet shipped from factory so that is was one complete floor --- no seams ----
Slide was removed,,,flipped on its side.....damaged subfloor removed...new subfloor installed.....slide reinstalled - stickdogExplorerI've replaced all three of my slide floors. 3/4 marine plywood with 1/4 ACA laminated screwed and glued over the seam plus 2' stainless flat stock over and under the seams. Waterproof epoxy on the underside I would assume yours is 1' as well 3/4 would not hold at the span of 4'. My slides are 3x11'6" and 32"x13'6".
They're more difficult to remove than replace. - 4X4DodgerExplorer III have done this but my slide was smaller and the original plywood floor was 1 1/8th Marine plywood.
I think you first need to take yours apart. This is not an easy job but is doable if you are handy.
If your trailer has Laminate Fiberglass sides this could be very difficult. It's much easier with an aluminum sided trailer.
I rebuilt my slides floor and some of the supporting wall sections.
It took me ten days of working all day every one of those days. And a good share of that was spent running around trying to find appropriate hardware and parts. (I was in Minot, ND though not exactly the center of the universe)
