Water pump not pumping.

Ours wouldn't self prime. I carried a syrup bottle with small nozzle so I could squirt into the winterizing hose to get the pump started. After several years I mentioned it to a parts guy at an RV store. I had a photo of the pump on my phone to show. He sold me a rubber membrane, I installed it, and the pump works perfectly now.

Close your city water fill valve.

Also, those strainers if left with water over the winter can and will crack. If it is cracked, you will loose your pressure and the pump will not be able to pump water.

Fill the FW tank, turn on the pump and open all the cold water valves in the rig. Sometimes this allows/forces the pump to get its prime back. If not try the suggestion for the `winterizing' hose.

"in for a fresh water tank leak" so the repair facility might know what they disabled, changed while making the repair. They may have plugged or clamped the tank to pump line while making the repair and not removed the plug. I'd call them and ask them what their procedure was while making the repair.

It may help to know what rig you have.

Regardless, I'll mention this because it solved the same problem for a neighboring camper a couple of years ago.

We were drying camping at an agility trial. The neighbor's pump would run (continuously) but no water flow from faucets. Before coming to the trial site, he had filled his fresh water tank. And that was the source of the problem. His fresh water tank was filled by turning a value and using the city water connector. He had failed to turn the valve back to normal.

Assuming that it is heard running but no pressure build up, first check for a bad fitting on the the low pressure side sucking air not water. If all appears to be good fitting-wise it could be the pump itself. Diaphram broken. Might be a serviceable item. Most likely not. New pump time. Be sure intake & output fittings are the same. Most are regardless of manufacturer.

does your rig have the valves and a short length of clear hose for winterizing? Double check the valves again on the HW tank, confirm all taps are off and suitable water in tank. Now switch valves to winterize and try to suck water out of a bowl into the winterizing hose. You can even pour water into that hose and blow on it as the pump runs...this sometimes works. they should self prime, but in my experience sometimes they dont.

What's the process? Full the lines with city water? Turn city water off? Then try pump?
