- pnicholsExplorer IIRambleOnNW,
Thanks much for the outstanding link you provided above: https://skepticalscience.com/climate-change-little-ice-age-medieval-warm-period.htm
I especially like it's subtitle - "Getting skeptical about global warming skepticism". It's important to click on the "Intermediate" tab and read the commentary there.
IMHO, during discussions like this very often the concept "right to an opinion" is thrown around way too much and elevated almost to god status. An opinion not open to adjustment after discussion and investigation can very easily morph into something that resembles a dogma. - ExxWhyExplorerSigh, just more name calling Rambleon. Funny how you hear that no matter where you want to discuss climate.
Just what do these carbon offsets accomplish? I can think of a couple things, but maybe you can explain it in a paragraph or 2?
Humans are the primary drivers of climate? We are smarter than I thought. So much for the sun and it's minor effect.

RVs are extreme fun but heavy CO2 polluters. We personally purchase carbon offsets to offset 133% of our total carbon use from all sources.
You can too. For $0.10 per gallon of gas.
:c: and thank you for the link. - RambleOnNWExplorer IIBe part of the problem or be part of the solution, nutz.
It is clear where your thinking lies. - travelnutzExplorer IIRambleOnNW
Golden example of "Follow the money" Your money with wings that is and you even seem to enjoy giving it away! Give more or give all you have!!! there's always someone very willing to accept your generous "donations"! - RambleOnNWExplorer IILaughable when you see the same o same o global warming deniers arguments the same here as anyplace else.
Using the argument "Climates changed before". Proves that the climate changes when forced. Such as when Earth's tilt changes on a periodic basis known as Milankovitch Cycles.
Man is the primary forcer of climate now.
All denier claims are repetitive and they just repeat the same claims over and over.
They are all debunked here..

Well, I'm just going to cherry pick a ridiculous statement out of that diatribe: " I admire science, but it is wrong far more than it's right." Okaaaay. :)
Please enlighten me on what is ridiculous about that statement?
If it takes a scientist 1000 tries to figure out the right result, doesn't that mean that 999 were wrong and one was right? Isn't that more? How many theories about any scientific concept have been put forth in say the last 100 years that are now looked at as wrong and even ridiculous? How many are still accepted as correct? It changes and evolves all the time as new information is discovered. What we humans "know" is minuscule compared to what is knowable. - travelnutzExplorer IINo cabin fever here this year or any year. It's simply the truth that hurts some people's feelings and agendas. There's proven science that is actually verified with time and then there's predicted science that is very seldom verified and falls by the wayside. Why, it failed to materialize, be real factual, or was not accepted by the human population, and/or did raise the gobs of funds to even give it a shot or mostly pad the pockets of the predictors!
Follow the MONEY! - travelnutzExplorer IIExxWhy,
So extremely well said and detailed. THANK YOU! Besides that, absolutely true! Unlike claims we are going to freeze to death and vegetation growing will come to an end. Then, a few years later GW will scorch the planet, dry up the soil because it will be going into the oceans and along with all the ice glaciers raise the oceans 25 to 75 feet and all those people will have to move or drown! So true, follow the money!
Al Gore is sure one who did and it made him richer than his father was! Lies py big when you are able to pull the wool over other's eyes! Funny how that happens! How many of you posters even have a clue as to how much of an energy hog the Gore home in Athens,Tennessee is and was? Meanwhile, he preached to everyone to quit using so much energy as it pollutes. Then there's ex-Pres Jimmy Carter who preached that everyone should just turn their thermostats way down and then always wear a sweater or coat even when in their own home. Meanwhile, his home had the A/C blasting all summer long and in the WH too. 2 faced! A/C is horribly inefficient in energy use! How stupid are some people anyway?
Being reasonable about land, air, and sea pollution is wise and only common sense but preaching the sky is falling is so far from common sensse also.
Why it it people do NOT understand that electric vehicles consume stored energy that comes from consuming even more energy as there are always losses down the way at each step! Will it ever be a cheaper and less energy use way to truely power a vehicle, time will tell but it sure isn't today! All it really has done is shift the energy use from dino fuel at the pump to powerplants producing more KWH. Some power consumption is offset by the use of LED's and also so many thousands of factories in the USA having closed their doors and moving away. Less energy consumed world wide, heck no because where they moved to pollutes so much more than when here in our country. Just shifting the pollution sources to other countries is all that was accomplished! - GaryKHExplorerAround about this time of the year, every year, Cabin fever (AKA Shack Nasties) set in. It's quite entertaining actually! :)
