What seat cushion do you like best to reduce back pain?

I love my truck but the ride is a little firm for the longer days driving for my wife. What bottom or bottom+back pad do you like best for a more comfortable ride?

  • I got a back support from Amazon (under office equipment) that can be used with either a vehicle or in a chair in my office and use it both places. You can find ones that are solid cushions or a plastic support covered with a thin layer of foam and fabric and with ones that are entirely mesh. Cost is from $10 to $65 for most. Fast to install and mine works great.
  • I posted not long ago, that I roll up a towel and tie it off in three or four places and put it behind my back, usually around my belt line. It provides the same results as stretching, can be adjusted up or down for comfort, and is a lot cheaper. And, in an emergency, you can use it for a towel!
  • Our air seats with lumbar, bottom tilt, and fore/aft ability work well. FL60

  • For me nothing has worked. I sometimes adjust the angle of the back of the driver's seat to change my position and that seems to work as well as a cushion.
  • A rolled up towel will help to determine the amount of lumbar support that works for an individual, then you can go shopping for something to provide that amount of support.
  • Do a google search, I know that sounds vague. I can't remember the site. They will make you a cushion to your liking. Various types of foam and they cut to your measurements. You can get high density foam and memory foam. Your thickness your dimensions. CushionsExpress I think is one site I found.
  • Path1 has the right idea. we have tried so many and they work for a while then you are right back to square one again.
  • Probably going to get answers that what works for one wont work for another.
Look up in your area for medical supply stores and call them. Ask about their back supports. How many different types do they have in the store, and go try them out. I wound up with a "lumbar support foam roll" that works great, for me. Only $8.00 Prior to that I had much more bigger dollar back support that didn't work. Try them out at the store.
