which weight distribution to buy

Lots of people will recommend what they have...that's pretty much how it works on the Forum.

I would look at and research these 3 (in no particular order):

Reece Strait Line Dual Cam
Equal-i-zer (brand)
Blue Ox Sway Pro

I pretty much agree with the above post. Here are links to the hitches mentioned. Keep in mind that they are available from other dealers also and not just the one I am linking to.

You will have to decide what rate spring bars to get with any of the above hitches. That choice will depend on the tongue weight of your trailer. I have always had excellent luck with sizing my spring bars about 300lbs heavier than the actual tongue weight of my trailers.

Keep in mind that those three are friction based sway control and only help to control sway. To eliminate having any sway, you would have to go with a mechanical based sway control device. The two that come to mind are the Hensley Arrow and the Pro Pride. Of course, elimination of sway does not come cheaply and expect to pay 3 or 4 times more for it over the friction based units.

However, if absolute safety is important to you, the choice is obvious. It always amazes me that a person will spend 30 to 50 thousand on a new TT but then skimp on sway control for a few hundred.

I didn't need to spend a few hundred on a sway control, the $100 one works just fine. I don't call that skimping, I call that purchasing what I need and not over buying. Your situation may vary.

Hensley Arrow is the only hitch to buy

I've had an Andersen (used it with a 16' TT) and an Equal-i-zer (used it with a 23' TT. I think the Equal-i-zer is a very effective unit, easy to self-install if one follows the written directions, and reasonably durable (nothing's perfect). But if I were towing more than 27' or so, I would think long and hard about the Hensley or ProPride.

I replaced my old time-delay controller this summer, finally, with a P3. Very nice unit, and glad I made the change.

I have 22,000 miles on my Equal-i-zer 4 point. Wouldn't trade it for anything else.
