- rexlionExplorerI don't see anyone "blasting frustrations", just people who see the sign as a practical tool. Take it easy.
People who have paid the camping fee and are present during daylight hours are involved in camping, not day use. So the sign makes sense to me (maybe it could have been worded more clearly, not sure).
And yes, I do have a sense of humor (a somewhat over-active one). This thread reminds me of a sign I saw that really tickled my funny bone. The sign simply said, "No Camping," but it was right next to the women's pit toilet. (Make it quick, ladies...) ;) - 3oaksExplorer

Exactly! ;)
As volunteers in parks this is a very common sight. The campground is for camping, not to take up space having lunch and relaxing all afternoon. The sign isn't funny at all. :)
I have witnessed potential campers driving through a camping area only to find people using sites just for relaxing and having lunch or to fish. The legitimate campers, probably thinking the inconsiderate people doing this were tent campers that haven't quite set up yet, drove on. - DutchmenSportExplorer"Exactly what is funny about this sign?"
Interpretation: Camping is allowed only at night!????
Sometimes signs just don't make a lot of sense. To add some humor back to the thread and get away from the "stuffiness"... how about this one. I about wrecked the truck laughing so hard when I saw this. I had to go back and get the photo!
- GordonThreeExplorerA lot of Michigan State Park campgrounds have passive aggressive signs like that.
Parking for campers only, no day use.
Bathrooms for campers only, no day use.
Campers only, all others must leave at 10pm.
I assume it's due to campers feeling territorial about their space, and don't want to share the public land and facilities with other taxpayers? - dewey02Explorer II

Really?
This post sounds like a stand-up comedian who berates the audience when they don't laugh at something that isn't funny. Exactly what is funny about this sign?
You've had responses from several people that actually KNOW something about managing campgrounds and they are absolutely correct. There are a lot of people that mis-use campgrounds for day-use activities and prevent actually campers from using them for their intended purpose. Thus the need for a sign. A sign that is factual, necessary and not the least bit funny. (But unfortunate that they didn't spell correctly)
And before anyone takes the USFS to task for incorrect spelling, it appears that this notice was done by Thousand Trails Management Services, which likely is a concessionaire at whatever campground this is. - DownTheAvenueExplorerI don't get it.

- 2012ColemanExplorer IIWell, why don't you answer your own question? Why do you think it is funny?
