I'm tellin ya, as far as size and weight is concerned, this is almost like having no compressor at all !
But it performs as advertised, and does not even phase the Honda 1000 in the slightest.
So then I thought....you don't suppose it will run (and start @ 80 lbs off one of my new 150 watt inverters hooked to a squeaky little AGM SLA 5 AH battery ?? And amazingly, yes easily. Not even a blink of the overload light
looks like this one has a well designed motor and unloader. Certainly better than the one I have. Good to know about this one. thanks for the update. - RJsfishinExplorerDelete
- RJsfishinExplorerMy auction of course is gone, but here is another just like it.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Campbell-Hausfeld-Air-Compressor-1-Gallon-Pancake-110-Volt-FP2028-Inflator-/391277197419?hash=item5b19f0386b - westendExplorerNice find. Care to share which auction site?
- RJsfishinExplorerYep, hoping it will be 300% better than the squeaky little 12v that took over an hr to air 4 ATV tires.
Takes 1 minute 50 seconds from 0 to shutoff @ 110 psi, and 1 minute from 0 to 70. - azrvingExplorerYou know, some people just cant leave stuff alone :) I was climbing some sand hills back in the woods in Northern Michigan and had to air down. I then tried to use my cheesy harbor fruit 12 volt compressor and it was letting air OUT of the tires. I threw it out into the woods but dont worry I didn't harm any animals and it was oiless of course so I didn't pollute either.
I now have a smallish pancake compressor that does about 150 psi and run it off the Honda 3000 in back of my truck. There is no such thing as Too much power. I have a Viair too but havent really used it much.
That is a nice little compressor. - RJsfishinExplorerI said I would post back,.........

it may have an unloader but here is my experience trying to run a compressor on a honda 2000.
First, these compressors often use a very cheap split phase induction motor. NO start cap, no run cap and these motors have VERY VERY high starting current.
On mine, even to get it to run on my honda 2000, I have to have the tank empty AND the drain valve open in order to get the motor spinning with absolutely no load, then close the drain valve and it will run till it hits max pressure.

Well now that throwed a little curve into my style !
I remember now several yrs ago, someone in Qzs Az loaned me a little pancake comp,......must have been when I had fridge trouble, and as I remember it ran fine on the eu 1000. But I have no idea what it was, but don't seem like it could be any less of a compressor than this one. I don't expect much cfpm out of this little thing.
At any rate, I post the result back here as soon as it gets here. - 2oldmanExplorer II

It will probably start and run from empty, but you might need to unplug it and release some air before it will restart when the limit switch calls for more air.
Maybe, but seem like some have an unloader valve for a no load start?
