Yeah, if you have room to mount 2 or 3 of them.
19 years ago LG wasn't a bad brand, probably still made in the same place where they designed it.

Now, with 2 billion people cobbling up God knows what there, you never know what you are going to get. Climatrightair - who are they?

Here is another 12000 mini-split, at least with Panasonic compressor. A bit cheaper than Climatright. One thing I can't understand is how it can draw 16A @ 1400W. Shouldn't it be 11.7A?
  • I use nothing but 11 or 12 EER units and they work great and accumulate enough moisture outside to feed a small plot of cantaloupe. I purchased the precursor to LG (Lucky Goldstar) in 1997, new units at Fry's electronics. A friend and I purchased an entire pallet of 5K units for $39.95 each. New, not refurbished, not seconds...that's not likely to ever come around again. NONE and I mean ZERO units of the 24 have malfunctioned. my friend turns his on in June and off in November. Nineteen years...I have three mounted in Quicksilver and two in la casita.
  • ompared to my 5000 BTU window shaker, these are double the watts or close to it. Mine uses as much as the 2500 BTU model here.
  • Cover up in a good thick blanket, then grab the hose and stick it in.

I love that EER rating. Reminds of of fuel saving garbage "You'll Save So Much Fuel You'll Need To Hang A Bucket Beneath The Gasoline Filler Cap!"
  • The old saying ... " When a little is good ...A LOT ain't better".
  • Well that's what I get for not clicking on the specficiations myself. (i.e. someone sent me this via email). I guess the 482 watts is for the dog house unit. Sorry to raise everyone's hopes.

They do have a split unit which is heat pump style, but of course is even more watts.

Not sure where you got the 492 figure- the specs I saw list 1290 watts for the 10k btu/hr unit- the 480 watt unit is 2.5k btu/hr- not really big enough for much more than a doghouse (not big enough for that in Florida :) )

    X2. I was looking but, didn't see anything about 10,000 BTU @ 492 watts.

If it sounds too good to be true........

Traditional heat pump aka Oil of Snake. Look at the stupid condensing liquid measurement. My 5,000 BTU window unit will dehumidify better than this. Impossible to cool air without removing humidity. Hissssssss Rattle Rattle
