2001 1010 Lance truck camper Battery Switch

This is a first, I have owned the camper since 2006. The battery switch was in the off position ( which is in). I pulled the switch out, to check the monitor inside at the controls panel. All looked good, it read the battery was full and charging. (I have it hooked to a solar panel). 
However, when I attempted to push the switch back ln, it was like spring loaded! It will not go back to the IN or (off) position. Also, the camper is disconnected from the truck.

Any ideas out there TIA
