2018 diesel C with Murphy Bed

I have been searching the specs on all these available for 2018. They MSRP from around $150,000 US to $250,000 loaded.
The top in design is Airstream Atlas by mechanical specifications, body, and interior.
I've been told these units have a 50 percent markup and therefore should sell for cash no trade as low as 40 percent off.
Those that have bought what have you found in cash deals no trade ?
  • Off topic?

I have never seen any RV with a bed that pulls down out of the wall
By definition, a Murphy bed is a full size bed mounted flat ,vertically or horizontally on the wall,
And pulls down to sleep in
Folding sofas and air beds are not Murphy beds

You've got me scratching my head , wondering what the RV install of a Murphy bed looks like ??

It's not really at all important for this discussion, but it's technically a class C: it's built on a cutaway chassis, not in a cargo van chassis, and the body of the house part is built by Airstream, not Mercedes. Airstream calls it a "B+", which is marketing speak for a smallish class C with no cabover bunk.

I guess they (and other makers) call it a B+ because that sounds more prestigious than a C-!

Sorry, I work for one of the largest CLASS B dealers and it IS a B. We SELL them. It IS important, Class makes a big deal. AS you stated, they call it a B+ NOT a C-. Doug

    2. As the other poster stated, CASH is not king in today's RV environment. So what if you have cash, the MONEY is made on the financing, so cash kind of disqualifies you from the running if you think that gives you a leg up. You offer cash and the dealer knows the multitude of customers will be financing thru him or there own source.
    3. Your problem if wanting an Airstream is, it is a SELLERS market on Airstream products, especially the B Van market.
    4. The Atlas is brand new and when Airstream offers a brand new model, they sell for MSRP as they have MORE buyers than available units. Doug
  • I've never found cash to be of any real value when negotiating a vehicle sale from a dealer. If you get a loan from a bank, the dealer still gets cash, they just get it from the bank instead of you. And often for the lowest price they want you to take a loan from their preferred lender so they get percentage (kick back) from the loan. Sometimes to get the lowest price you have to take the loan, then pay it off after the first month.

And, with as well as the stock market is doing, leave the money invested and take the loan - yes, past performance doesn't guarantee tomorrows results and the market does have to slow down some day.
