I used a door from a cabinet that I picked up somewhere (Scrap) it fit the base of the compartment perfectly and is strong enough to hold my 300 pounds so holding a couple hundred pounds of battery no tribble at all.
Remember battery comprtments must be vented unless AGM and even with AGM I'd suggest it.
No correct size scrap doors lying about?
2x12 cut to length or 1x12 or 3 layers cross hatched
That is lay the first layer right to left
2nd layer front to back
3rd right to left
