My 2006 Phaeton air horn stopped working. Both front and rear air systems building to max pressure. Standard horn works but when I switch to air I still only get baby horn. I checked all of my books, electrical diagrams, Freightliner, etc. but can't find any helpful information.This is really an incidental problem and not the kind of thing I would go into the shop to troubleshoot, but if anyone has any thoughts as to where the failing connection may be I would be grateful for your help.

I think I would start at the switch and see if it is switching over to the air side. JMO

Check to make sure your airhorn is still grounded properly.

I'd start by making sure you have power to the horn's solinoid valve... Probably on the firewall above the generator.

I raised the control panel as much as I could, to see that the SPDT switch did still have all three wires attached. So many switches under that panel. Took all the screws out that I could see and could only raise it slightly. Don't want to unplug any of the many wires attached under there.Haven't located the solenoid. Thanks for the clue.

Agreed. As a retired Supt of Maintenance for a large manufacturer, that has always been my motto. There is no such thing as a coincidence. Always go back and look at the last thing you did. But in this case, I was watching and I can't imagine that the horn wiring was anywhere near the area where they were working. If I can locate the solenoid I might be able to go from there.

Still waiting for a return call from them.

That's interesting. Could be the techs knocked off a wire somewhere.

Hadley has a trouble shooting guide and there is also a wiring diagram on line.

Got a feeling I'll find something similar. Funny thing is that it worked before I took it to Red Bay (Tiffin) for a jack problem but didn't work on the way back. I have been trying to get in touch with them to see if there could be any relationship to the work they did, but so far haven't managed to get a returned call. I honestly can't see where there could be a relationship and I was there watching their every move.

I do not know where the jack problem was located, but a wire might have been pulled off accidentally. It might even be at the air horn solenoid or it's relay.
