Awning working backwards after fabric replacement

Hi, Sorry if this is posted in the wrong spot...just replaced fabric on 17' Faulkner awning, put 14 turns counterclockwise on front spring, same clockwise on rear and the tension is exactly backwards...

What year RV? And Brand. Is it possible the cam lock is messed up? I have over 42 years and thousands of Awning installs and repairs and have NEVER run into what you have. Are you adding tension with awning extended or retracted? There are different turns for each. Doug
