- MEXICOWANDERERExplorerThe comments/reviews suggest this critter has some serious issues. For a hundred dollars? I don't think so. Go to ALLBATTERY.COM and search for BATTERY SEPARATORS. Better product, about 60% of the price. Blue Seas is usually flawless with their stuff but I see storm warning flags flying on this one.
- RoyBExplorer III am planning to use this BLUE SEA SI-ACR unit with my next battery install of two 150AH batteries in the bed of my truck bed and two batteries on the tongue of my trailer...
Schematic will look something like this for the truck side...
this BLUE SEA SI-ACR unit is a smart mode relay and will detect when the Alternator is charging and then kick-in the batteries installed in the truck bed. Not suppose to drag down your truck start battery. The same unit is cheaper from AMAZON.
I will also share these two truck bed batteries with my camper two batteries and for the most part will be recharged from the trailer on-board PD9260C instead of the truck alternator.
I am not convinced yet if my truck alternator is capable on charging a couple of more batteries in the its circuit or not...
Since this drawing was made I am now considering 150AH Trojan T1275 batteries in the truck bed...

A lot of people seem to have problems with the BIRD or BCC system used by Fleetwood and some others.
My friend with a 2003 Fleetwood Flair has had three of the solenoids and a control board fail. - YC_1NomadLooks like a great product and excellent price. When my BIRD died I added a similar device but found while running the engine and generator that it sometimes gives me an alternator fault warning. The voltage from the charger gets a bit too high I guess for the alternator circuit. No damage, just a nuisance warning. A few easy works arounds such as turning the charger down or turning the headlights on and the dash AC usually puts enough of a load on it.
