Maybe if Earth's population was capped at, say, 1 billion souls those 1 billion souls wouldn't be unsustainably using up and ruining Earth, if at all ... regardless of how those 1 billion souls were living or driving.
Why is it that everyone, everywhere, assumes that it's OK to procreate as we please? BTW, we tried to do our part ... two kids .... with one kid stopping permanently at two kids and the other kid not having any kids.
Talk about the 800 more or less metric ton gorilla in the room .... geeeesh. :S
Who will be the ‘Wise Decider’??... Seems that this policy has already been tried in China, but its implimentation first requires the empowerment of a Totalarian Dictatorship, unless some believe that ‘maybe if tried again, this time we can get it right’ mentality thus, a soft but non-static dictatorship...But ‘accidents’ happen, so what to do?
Either way, the majority of population growth occurs in the third world, because affluent first worlder’s tend not to want to be bothered with the interference of one’s decadent (by world standards - quality of life) lifestyle, nor the distraction and burden of long years of costly child rearing...Thus, fortunate first worlder’s tend not to reproduce, this, one reason for their, how do I dare say it - corrosponding political agendas....
Yet in nature, theres always the possibility of a culling of the herd - in human’s case likely through abject but sanctioned stupidity...
