Best Interior LED replacement bulbs

The lights I bought from LEDTrailerLights.com 2.5 years ago are all still working perfectly, none have died or given me issues. I'd be comfortable buying them again.

The reason you see more 5050 LED's being sold is the "China syndrome". If a new device comes to market the Asian vendors want to be the one that leads out in sales for the newer devices. I like the 48-3528 boards as the quantity of diodes seems to give adequate light spread in a down-firing location. I haven't tried but a couple of the 5050 boards since the 3528's do the job so well.

Tenbear is probably spot on with his assessment of lumen output comparison. 12 or 16 5050's are less output then the 48-3528's. I tried a 12-5050 for task lighting over the sink cabinet and it was not enough output for that. It may be adequate for a reading light or in-cabinet light, though.

If you want light output that is really shocking to behold, you could get some of the newer Cree LED's. Some are enough output to use as deer spotters, lol.

I would think that the 5050, being 3 leds in the same package, would produce more heat and might possibly have some ill effects. The 3528 or 1210 (the same led, 3528 is metric) may be a little more costly to assemble since 2x the number of leds is required.

Edit: I think 48 3528 is about the same brightness (lumens) as 24 5050.

Incidental question: which chip is "better" :)- 3528 or 5050 or 1210 of same lumens per board? I'm serious. Let's say, 48*3528 VS 16*5050 VS N*1210 (don't remember how 1210 is rated against 3528). Any pros and cons?

I would think that the smaller - the better, because you have then more chips per board, so the light source is more "continuous". But 5050 seems to be most common size, at least on Ebay. Some sellers don't even carry anything but 5050. Easier manufacturing perhaps?

I'm sure this has been said many times already, but search really doesn't work well on the forum. So here it goes again:

There is hardly any difference between unregulated LED boards from Ebay and unregulated boards from US-based sellers. They all buy from China where LED manufacturers appear and disappear every few months. Few stores like Command Electronics sell US made LED-related products, but usually not boards or cobs.

There "could" be difference in rate of reject and failures between different Ebay sellers, but I think there is no consistency so it is impossible to tell "good" sources from "bad" ones. Toss a coin.

There IS a difference in LED "bulbs" design, i.e. cob, board with fixed base, board with pigtail base, tube etc.

We hardly use any electronics and I wasn't aware of RFI etc. I find the lumens and light temp I want and try to find the cheap ones. I've been just as happy with the $1-2 ebay jobs as the expensive ones from prudentrver etc. Craig

These are the ones I bought.
I think they are the best. Since best is not subjective, everyone should buy these. Hard to understand why anyone buys different leds.

X2 ... Went with Mena661's advise a few years ago and over a 2 year or 3 yr period replaced all 21 bulbs with the 921's from LEDTrailerlights.com. In fact, just switched em all out from old TT to new 5er.
