- towproExplorerI do like that connector smkettner pointed out.
I did leave enough slack just below the roof so I could pull out the SAE connector if needed, but its already sealed and not leaking so time will tell.
I will keep an eye on it. - Heap64ExplorerOthers have found there is usually enough slack to pull that out and get to the real wire that is connected to that pigtail. It does seem like a weak link. Then put a real junction box on your roof to tie your panels into.

This looks like it would work with your solar wire and MC4 connectors - towproExplorerAfter further review, the picture below is what I think it on the roof. My RV is wired with 10g wire, accept the connector below is 12g. I have a 10g end for the roof and all 10g cable.
I will go with this connector and see how it holds up, just watching out for moisture penetration.
If i add more panels at a later date, I will deal with maybe putting a box in place of this connector. - Darryl_RitaExplorerGoobered it over with self leveling sealant, and used heavier wire from the roof to the charge controller. The current rating of the SAE connector is pitiful, as was the wire size in the walls.
- sch911ExplorerWere going to need a pic of your connector if you want help!
