My coach has some 24V fans running with 12V power and I would like get them the full 24V they are rated at as there is also a speed controller I can use to control the speed and noise (Country Coach set it up this way to keep the sound down).I have seen some setups online but don't really quite get it. I will have 1 12V input with a good size wire and it would need to output 24V (18-24V) so I can get some additional "blow" from the fans. The output will go to 3 squirrel cage type fans in my diesel heat (Webasto) fans. I have good access to the input and output wiring so if I can find the right device it should be pretty simple to setup. It's also in a fairly open cabinet so heat dissipation should not be an issue if these things create heat.

Bill, don't know if you have done an Amazon search yet but mine turned up several posibilities depending on the max current you require.

That's the beauty of something like the DROK. Adjust the regulated output to 28.4 volts if you wish. I would however mess with the fuses and protect the circuit well ahead of the regulator with an easy to access fuse --- just in case. Mount flat not vertical. School of hard knocks --- 12F temperature difference on the heat sink with a sizeable load. The full-width heat sink of the DROK makes it a very appealing device.

The fans already have 3 speed settings which is why them using 24V on a 12V system was silly from the start. With a 12V input the fans blow a gentle breeze but sometimes when it's really cold I would like to get a bit more of a blast of heat for a quicker warmup.

I have a few similar to this in operation, mine are any volt to 12v buck/boost modules however:

Pros:

Fans are not purely resistive loads, so this isn't all that precise. It would give a rough estimate at least. The startup current draw for the fans is likely a little higher than their running current, maybe quite a bit higher; rounding up in the current requirement would be a decent idea.

If one gets a variable boost supply, the fan speed could presumably be controllable, which might be handy.

Hum...max current....I wonder how I can figure that out. It doesn't seem like it should be that much as it would only be 2 small squirrel cage fans.

They are special and they are nearly impossible to access without pulling dash apart and disconnecting the water lines circulating the hot water throughout the coach.
If I could find the fans I might give that a try as well but I have had not luck finding them.
