My Honda 2000 generator started up cold then Eco Switched On will start my Whynter 11kBTU portable AC after the AC's 3 minuted compressor start delay. When the AC cycles off, then tries to cycle back on the generator lugs too low and power is interrupted, the RPM's scream high then go back low after a minute. After 3 minutes the AC tries and fails to start again.So I speculate that a Cold engine must have a high idle mechanism, that if engaged permanently would allow the generator to reliably start my AC consistently with Eco Mode On.Any suggestions about the Cold Start High Idle mod?

For running A/C and/or the microwave, I have to leave the eco switch off on my paralleled Honda 2000s. Otherwise, they just bog down and the A/C compressor won't kick on and the microwave browns out. But most of my boondocking is at 10,000 feet plus. Don't know what they would do at "normal" elevations. They've never been below 8,000 feet.

I have a 3000 but get the same sort of thing--some jobs you need to leave the eco off and have it running full before adding a big load.Anyway, I don't get it. Eco is to lower the revs to save fuel. Howinheck can you have high revs (fast idle) AND eco?

When i start it cold, then go to Eco Mode On, then RPM's are slightly higher than when it warms up and slows down even more. It IS Much Slower than Eco Off which wastes fuel overnight when the AC only needs to run a few minutes per hour. On this thread Please Refrain from suggesting the easy fix of Eco Off.The entire purpose of spending $1000+ on this Inverter Generator is the Fuel Economy/quiet operation and I refuse to settle with Eco Off as a solution.I will keep this thread updated on the attempts to modify eco idle speed or rejetting.FYI I have the Whynter GREEN ARC-110WD AC with dual hoses that specs state 9.5amps maximum current

On a 90 degree day parked in full sunlight, tha AC runs continuously with Eco Mode ON, but overnight it cycles off. Seems like a waste that I get Eco On all day, then have to run Eco Off during the night when it is barely utilized.

Incandescent bulb filaments represent a fairly high inrush current with initial power application, sometimes a delay of only 1/2 will work, depends on genset response time.

Suggested it to Coleman a few years ago but otherwise no.

Coleman employee buy-out management said the industry was/is too competitive to add even the least expensive features.

I think if he took the 11,000 BTU back and got a 9,000 BTU, he'd be ahead $ wise and fuel wise. probably needs an efficient unit that draws a max of 8 amps while running.

Just the ticket... 7.5 Amps.

FYI I have the Honda EB2000i, the one without Parallel Capability, but has GFCI for my business' OSHA compliance....like the difficult to use 5 Gallon Safety Cans.
