- lt1tyrellExplorerExcellent thanks, I will read that.
- GjacExplorer IIII don't know what model refer you have but I changed mine in a Norcold 682 with out removing the refer. If you look at the manual it tells you how many ohms it should be between leads to see if the element is bad. If it is I posted a detailed how to remove the element on here. If you search under gjac over 1 year you can read it.
- lt1tyrellExplorerOk thanks I will try
- John_WayneExplorer IIDo you have a elec. meter?? If so pull both wires for the heat element and check for continuity put one probe on each wire and see if meter makes a tone, if tone, heat element is good.

Be sure it's the element gone bad. Most heat chambers are 2 feet above the base buried in fibergkass whuch is under thin galvanized sheet metal. Use nitrile gloves and goggles or risk a trip to an opthomologist to get fiberglass fibers get dug out of your corneas. Follow the pair of fiberglass insulated wires to the element.
Ok thank you, the code says ac heater failed so I checked the fuses under the little cover that has the circuit board inside...unfortunately the fuses were good. - MEXICOWANDERERExplorerBe sure it's the element gone bad. Does anybody have a good write or vid on how to change the heater element? Does the fridge have to be pulled out to do it? Any tips would be appreciated, thank you.
May I ask how you determined the heater element was bad? Reason I ask is because my Norcold won't work on AC, only propane. Just trying to learn to trouble shoot my refrigerator's problem here. Thanks. - Old-BiscuitExplorer IIIYES....some fridges have to be pulled in order to access heater element.
What model do you have?
