Had a question:Is it normal for the 25 amp fuse to blow immediately when hittingthe stops on the LCI landing gear?I know I can just put a breaker in line for convenience.Something doesn't seem right with the motor.Sounds like it's running kind of weak to me.Our old fifth wheel would just stop and grunt on the stops.It never blew the fuse in 14 years.Our unit is still under warranty.

No it should NOT. But the main thing you posted was it is an LCI system. LCI is the Big Daddy in RV suppliers now, and their failure rate is extremely high on a multitude of products. Stabilizer Jacks/motors and switches and the regular front jack on the A frame of a regular towable have motor failures. Your Motor is defective and the dealer will replace under warranty. Doug

I'd start by putting a jumper cable straight to the motor and see how fast it runs as often the size wire is too small. 25 amps is barely enough to run this size motor and if you have a large voltage drop the amps needed go up. Larger wire and/or a 50 amp breaker will solve the problem.

Mine has a 30 amp fuse, but will still blow the fuse fairly quickly if I accidentally hit the end. A motor draws a lot more current when it stalls than when it is running.

u did not say what camper u have but my heartland big country did the same thing . a tech at my dealership said he had tried to get them to prevent this by putting a resetable circuit breaker in the wiring. has worked fine ever since. i still keep eye on it and try to stop short of it hitting the stop

I replaced my fuse with a circuit breaker and have not had a problem since.

The "new" LCI units appear to NOT be as robust as the 10+ year old units the original companies (that Lippert bought) made.

My 13 year old one worked great, I am on the 2nd motor for my 2 year old one.

This happened to me with a 40 amp inline fuse on my Montana LCI lift system. I found that it most frequently happened when powered by batteries only and a long lift was required.

I had other elements that contributed by adding weight to the front end. I had a second ac unit, a washer/dryer and extra batteries. I eventually went with independent drives for left and right.

Yes, it should blow out..There is no reason to wind them all the way up to the stops.

A simple way to stop this from happening. Mark the legs a quarter inch from from the stops. Let go of the button when you get to the mark. But it won't hurt to have the dealer check it out.
