I have the Outback gfx1312, with Mate2 monitor in my Host Mammoth. It's a 12v system, and I placed it in the generator compartment, along with a second set of 12v batteries, the Walmart MAX29 that had from the previous camper.
It works great, does exactly what we want - that is to run the microwave for 15-20 minutes on a overnight camping trip, and not hear the generator. It is also nice to dial in the amount of power we can pull from a circuit, and not really worry about popping the breaker or burning the socket up.
What I liked about it was price, it's a true hybrid, and it's surge capabilities.
