Ok thanks MrWizard I thought that was probably the solution but not clear on if it would work as ther obviously is ment to be 120v going in and passed true to output side. I have better get a electrician involved again.

Jumper is not the word i would use, or the method

However if you install a bypass switch or transfer switch so there is no shore power being applied/connected to the output side of the inverter you will be ok

You do not want, should not have, live shore power connected to the out put side of the inverter, it will back feedinto components, that should be getting that voltage

I would not run the air or micro on 50 Hz. Water heat and fridge should be fine but those should be good on propane. Most charging bricks for small items are universal, read the label.

I would be far more inclined to just get a local battery charger and put it direct on the battery. Use the inverter for 120v items as needed.

No movement on the friendly approach, so will try if other work. Meantime as I haven't reinstalled inverter, as power comes from step down transformer to in on inverter and it doesn't pass it true is ther anything wrong with jumping the 120V input to the output side of inverter so we can use campground power when on powered sites and inverter when no power? Without doing any damage. Thanks.

When I adapted 400Hz mil-spec equipment to 60Hz I had a chance to play around.

Enough of a chance to see with my little old two eyes, relays, especially PCB relays that would not pull in at specified voltage at 50Hz. A 120 volt coil relay would demand somewhere in the neighborhood of 134 volts on the coil to develop sufficient magnetics to pull the contacts.

400 Hz relays were easier. Convert to straight DC with an aluminum shading ring disc atop the coil.

The issue: Do the shading ring well enough to provide sufficient pull in while avoiding overheating of the relay coil winding and underpowering which would turn the relay into a buzzer at insufficient meaning deficient AC voltage Comprende?

Substitution of a like PCB mounting pattern 30-amp relay is a matter of asking and finding out WHICH relay part numbers are reliable performers with 50 Hz.

Slownsy, you -could- try contacting the US Federal Trade Commission in Washington D.C. and see what kind of reaction you get from them. If they should extend themselves to telephone the manufacturer I guarantee things will happen. Sort of like Dracula getting a midnight phone call from a garlic wholesaler. I would be prepared to FAX relevant documents to Washington DC.

time2roll, Good catch on the 2 different frequencies in the spec. Hopefully the OP will be able to get it resolved.

I'd rather have the 125A charger myself and he may have plans for the hybrid capability.

5.2.2 Charger Mode
Turning the charger on: The charge mode is automatically activated and begins when acceptable
AC power (utility/generator) is connected to the input of the inverter. When in charge mode,
the display may show: Charging, Bulk Charging, Absorb Charging, Float Charging, Full Charge,
Silent, Charger Standby, Force Float, Equalizing, Load Support VDC, and Load Support AAC

Acceptable power seems to be 60 Hz.

While I see the specs of the charger I do not see an operational setting to enable just the charging system while the incoming power is ignored.

Best shot seems to be inverter-off mode and still the box is looking for 60 Hz so the power will be stopped including power to the charger.

I would trade that transformer in for a local battery charger rated 10 to 50 amps into a 12v battery. Plug the charger into the power source direct and charge the battery direct. For 120v power simply turn the inverter on.

Don't see this working any different way. You may want to contact help on installation/operation as I believe that is the issue of how this operates over needing service/repair.

All ouer appliances are 60HZ American so yes that is fine but it doesn't work. Do anybody have a contact name or Internet address to contact besides the service one.
