NO DEISEL IN GAS CAN?

The gas station attendant here in Portland Oregon refused to sell me deisel when she saw it was going into my old plastic gas can saying it is against the law. She said I would need to fill out a form then said no. Anyone have thoughts on why this might be? I am at a loss.

    Something to to with State Law FLAMMABLE fuel container labeling?

    Buy a spray can of Krylon YELLOW paint for plastic and have at it?

    Red can is for Gas , Yellow can is for Diesel ,What color was you can ?

    Diesel goes in a yellow container. Placed in a red container it confuses firefighters and may lead to someone misfueling. Surprised you couldn’t find these rules https://legalbeagle.com/5948454-diesel-fuel-container-regulations.html
