power flickers when a/c kicks off...(Not on) 3 times now.

Yes it sounds odd but im have been living in my camper in my driveway here in NJ for a few weeks. Its been hot here. Long story as to why, ill post in another thread.

But 3 times now when the a/c kicks OFF..(not on) the power in the RV flickers off and on. So quick but enough to reset the clock on the microwave.

My monitor on this computer blinks off then on. Fast enough that I do not have to physically turn it back on with the on/off switch.

No breakers trip and I find this odd.

I am running the rv off a extension cord 50 feet maybe . not running any other loads but a/c and computer. one LED light.

Whats would cause this?

I have a wfco power center. Bottom end was replaced with pd charge wizard.

This is just weird.

Its only happened 3 times, but I figure once is enough to ask the question why this may be happening.

  • I'd suspect a bad capacitor in the air conditioner.

Could be the extension cord, maybe one of the ends is going bad? With the AC compressor running feel the ends of the cord, does anything feel warm?
  • do you have Power Management Device/system aka surge protection

A/C compressor 'OFF' could be cause of back EMF and a line voltage spike
  • Check the extension cord by feeling the connections on either end. Replace it with a heavier cord if there are any hot areas on it. Also check your RVs power cord, if it's hot, change the head too, or change it if the connections on the head are discolored. This often happens in summer to 30Amp cords so I always carried a couple 30amp heads with me so I could replace a melted head in a few minutes.

Doesn't hurt to open your RVs electrical input box and tighten all the screws. Or check wherever you're plugged into for tight connections.

Better do it now before it's too hot to move. And be safe...if you don't know basic electrical, call a pro.
