Power Surge EMS HW50 C works on 30 amps ?

do you have power going to both side of your 50 amp house breaker. Sound like your 30 to 50 adapter is not working correctly. I have the 50amp unit works great on 50. When I use the 30 amp adapter it work the same. The remote show the same line voltage when using the 30 Amp adapter. You are talking about land power not generator?

I agree. I have never had a problem when on 30 amp. or 50amp.. If you turn the switch off you have no protection. You have a problem somewhere.

It should be giving you an error code if it shuts off. That will tell you why it is shutting off. You could have a bad 30 amp adapter or the pedestal power is not wired correctly. I would not disengage the PI until I found why it was shutting off.

I have the same unit with the remote and have no issues. Progressive Industries has excellent support, call them something id not right.

cant help except to say i have the unit WITHOUT the remote display and i have no issues when plugged into a 30A circuit.

I suggest calling Progressive Industries - their support is VERY GOOD (I've called 'em twice, once w/ an install question & once at a park who had bad pedestal wiring)...they were very responsive.
