The hard plastic or bakelite connectors from Lowes or Home Depot are not the best in the world. Yes, they are cheap!

I've had problems getting them to plug in correctly in some campground boxes. Last campground I was in, the lip of the box interfered with the handle and the only way I could get an electrical connection was to tie a piece of rope around the handle and box and pull it as tight as I could. Even then the connection wasn't great but it worked.
