- WILDEBILL308Explorer IILets start with basics. Make shure your thermostat is turned up enough to call for heat. Next make shure you are in the right MODE and right Zone. Now is the furnace sparking and trying to light? The basic sequence is the fan has to come on to purge the furnace then the gas valve opens then the igniter will spark. The furnace will try a about 3 times to light then will shut down and will need to be re set to try again. You need good 12V power to the fan to open the sail switch.
Bill - Ernie8ExplorerRemoved the fuse and installed it back in. The heat pump came on, however the setting on gas only will not work.
- There is a small fuse on the tstat when you remove the cover. Make sure it is good. Does the Roof AC fan come on when you put in Fan only mode? That will help pinpoint a tstat problem. It is RARE for a tstat to be bad. It is usually a 12 volt supply problem. Doug
- gatorcqExplorerYes, possible it is bad. Normally it is just the switch in the wrong position. Remove the cover and you may notice 2 slide switches in parallel. They are move by the plastic switch cover. Try moving both and ensuring that you hit the correct position. Try removing the fuse also.
My unit is a basement / Propane furnace. - AllegroDNomadSounds like front thermostat may be bad. Switch the thermostats and see what that does.

My thermostat RV Comfort HP will not let my roof heat pump come on and also when set to Gas heat it will not come on. Could it be the thermostat is bad?
Are you in the right Zone and in the right Mode for the heat pump and for the furnace? Try this take the front of the thermostat off if there is a fuse in it pull the fuse for 30 sec and replace it and see if that helps.

- Ernie8ExplorerMy temp is above 40 and the gas setting on the thermostat will not turn on just the gas furnace. My rear gas furnace does work but not the front heater.
- AllegroDNomadBasic principle of an AC with heat pump. Heat pump does not work if outside temp is below about 40° and your furnace should default to emergency (gas) heat if ambient temp is 5° below set temp. If temp is below about 40°, I would turn off the heat pump. It will continually try to run. Not good or necessary.
