- MEXICOWANDERERExplorerI've got a new out of the box LED that says 12.7 volts always.
If anyone wants it, it's for sale for $10,000.00 hard cash.
How can you beat having always-full batteries?
Anyone who trusts a battery bank worth 300 times more than the untested instrument is, ah, er, ahem "brave". Yeah I guess that one will get past the censors. - RJsfishinExplorerI'd bet theres more to it than that.
I'd bet he's an ebayhater.Canadian Rainbirds wrote:

I've bought a few of the cheapies. If you don't mind if they're off by 10%, they're fine. The Sears product looks like it has actual wires. Mine has thread.
Off by 10%? that's 1.2 volts on a 12 volt scale. The difference between fully charged (12.6V) and very dead (11.34V) I wouldn't even accept 1%. - Canadian_RainbiExplorer

Between cataract and glacial reaction time I no longer drive at night. I want talking gauges so I don't have to take my eyes off the road.
"Oooooh help me - I'm soooo hot"
"I am in pain! I need more lube!"
"I've slipped out of my belt. Pull over"
But then again I am a widower. Married guys would risk having the DW set hammer to dashboard.
If we live long enough, we will have that. Everything will have a chip and voice software.
Hey Mr.MEX, get your glasses with anti-glare and it will help night driving. Marvin - NaioExplorer II

One for engine and one for house battery, even though i can use either battery for wither duty at the turn of a switch
Except I bought the 3 wire versions. I put the 3rd sense wire directly on the battery(+), and then used the calibration screw to dial them in with my DMM on the battery terminals too. These come on only with my ignition. if I had only the 2 wire models I could not wire them directly to the battery(+) unless I wanted them on all the time, or wanted to manually switch them on or off.
If I wired a 2 wire voltmeter to come on with my ignition, then it would not be reading battery voltage but the voltage at the circuit I tapped into which is live with the Key ON. Less accurate.
I bought the green ones. Way too bright at nighttime on my dashboard. I used 2 layers of 35% window tint to calm them down. Can still easily see them in daytime.
I am going to replace them with Red 3 wire voltmeters as the rest of my Dashboard lighting is red.
I spent about 7$ for the 3 wire versions on Amazon, but they get here in 2 days. - MEXICOWANDERERExplorerSingle conductor 26-gauge wire does not make it a cable. A 24 gauge stripper does not strip the wire and a 26 gauge telecom stripper does not nick the conductor when stripping. I've got 3-1/2 digit gauges that increment .4 volt up or down. So they can be classed as .8 volts + -
One of the best of the gauges is an LCD meter called a VOLT MINDER. It is a low voltage alarm that someone here on this forum clued me into several years ago. Three and a half digit impressive sampling rate and it has endured a lot of use. It is linear inaccurate but liveable with a .07 error @ 14.00 volts. Of course the meter is no longer available :(
The new to me 4.5 digit volt meter is accurate. Only time will tell if it remains accurate. - 2oldmanExplorer II

These are what I got. Teeny wires, they differ by 0.2v on the same circuit, and they're both too high according to my VOM.
I don't know where all this inaccuracy is coming from, but I haven't had any vari by more than 1/20th
It's not rocket science so I accept that I got what I paid for. - RJsfishinExplorerI have bought several in the frames....like the dead link posted, but they are not nearly as brite as the minis. I put one in my boat, and can't see it most times. I also have ac and dc matching in the MH, both hard to see in brite daylite. So I always buy the minis, much better.
Secondly, I don't know where all this inaccuracy is coming from, but I haven't had any vari by more than 1/20th v.......1/2 of the 1/10th digit, and most are much closer than that.
Thread for wires ????? never happened. They have all been very consistently good. I did have 1 failure in all I've bought (15),.....only the center bars lit right out of the box.
These have went up a lot in price. I used to buy these much cheaper.
I bought one for 37 cents including shipping. I posted the link to that one here.
And most all are burning day and nite 365.
