- pratmasterExplorerI thought death was next to a fridge LOL...
You can tell what I am thinking about - FarmerjonExplorerTools do walk away, they also get left inside of projects.
It looks like death is standing beside a circuit or control panel.
an extension socket is an extension cord with a light socket wired to the end and no shield protecting the bulb and you. Not that any of us has ever done that. - pratmasterExplorerI like the one about counting your tools, I could not tell you have many tools I have had walk off when I owned a service station and had employees.
Death is making a sandwich looks like, what is an extension light? a drop cord/shop light? - FarmerjonExplorerHere are a couple of pics out of a 1960 Navy training manual
- pratmasterExplorerNow manuals just say to take it to an authorizes repair center, I like that the auto repair manuals now say this on a lot of stuff and as someone that used to own a service station. It is very aggravating being a repair shop and reading a shop manual that says to take the car to a repair shop.
I got tired of working on my old junk vehicles and bought me a new one last year, after working on stuff for 20 years, I just got sick of it and sold everything. I would had bought a new camper, but I just can't see throwing down that kind of money for something I am not going to use every day.. - sabconsultingExplorerLove that manual. The illustrations and comic remarks about shooting the fridge and calling the psychiatrist would not be understood by those who had not had to troubleshoot something like this. As someone who tries to save money and fix old stuff I know exactly where it is coming from and it is refreshing to have it illustrated. I was about at the point the illustrations show with the Suzuki Samurai the other week.
When you thought it would be an easy fix, and ended up making it worse!
When you took it apart and don't know how to get it back together again!
When you shear off that rusted bolt!
Good to have something say "hey - I know how you feel, before throwing in the towel try this..."
Love it.
Steve. - FarmerjonExplorersome manuals used to be fun to read. They would show pictures of what not to do and why.

Political Correct
"Origins
Historically, the term was a colloquialism used in the early-to-mid 20th century by Communists and Socialists in political debates, referring pejoratively to the Communist "party line", which provided for "correct" positions on many matters of politics"
This is why I as a cross between a republican and progressive party (bull moose party of the 1900's, long live Teddy Roosevelt) refuse to be political correct just for the sake of it, now I will be coy and tactful with respect to my fellow humans, but not out of correctness, but respect.
Let the bashing begin... - Victory402ExplorerI miss the good ole days before political correctness and the blood sucking lawyers ruined everything!
- Super_DaveExplorerThey still print all kinds of "How To" books for "Dummies". The only stumbling block they might run into would be if a picture included someone of the wrong ethnicity.
