2013-14 Ram Recalls

INADVERTENT SIDE AIRBAG INFLATABLE CURTAIN (SABIC), SEAT AIRBAG, AND/OR SEATBELT PRE-TENSIONER DEPLOYMENT DURING CERTAIN DRIVING CONDITIONS MAY INCREASE THE RISK OF A CRASH AND/OR VEHICLE OCCUPANT INJURY.

R46 - SOME OF THE VEHICLES MAY HAVE A FRONT SUSPENSION TRACK BAR FRAME BRACKET THAT WAS IMPROPERLY WELDED DURING THE MANUFACTURING PROCESS.


And to top it off, I threw a P0300 check engine light this weekend. A misfire code. Hoping it's just bad gas from the independent station I bought from, something I normally never do. I'll clear it, and see if it returns.

My former Dodge/Ram trucks have all been rock solid. No problems at all. But I confess, today I'm wondering what I've got with this one. I'm a little disappointed. We'll see how Ram handles it, I guess.

I would maybe say only "2" recalls... as Ram isn't the only manufacturer recalling vehicles for airbag issues. As for the Track bar issue/recall, at least they are recalling them rather then pretending they're not issues...

Its good some see the issues, these safety recalls are never a joke as some make it out to be..

You might want to get on the cummins forum, and see for yourself the track bar that broke loose. You are correct though on welds, the welds that broke on that track bar do resemble peanut butter with the amount of penetration on them.

I guess its a joke to some, but I think there is some potential safety issues . It has been pointed out, and as much as it doesn't make me feel any less aggravated about six recalls in 18 months, at least they are getting taken care before we COULD have an issue.

Well thats a bit drastic at this point. From everything I have read about this track bar issue, its more proactive then anything, not too worried . I looked at the welds when I heard about it, and being in the steel fabrication business for over 42 years everything looked okay,. I mean they can look good, and still fail, but I don't see any cracks, rust, undercut or incomplete welds. I will see what they decide to do on Oct 9 .

I agree it won't be just anybody thats going to weld on my frame. Again lets see what they come up with first. Air arcing or grinding out welds seems a little drastic . They may come up with a bolt on brace , or possibly weld on a brace.

So the big question is the recall manufacture mandated or NTSB mandated? If the manufacture is doing because the see an issue and want to fix, or is the NTSB tel the manufacture to fix it.

X2 General Mills has just recalled Cheerios cereal boxes 1.8 million of them... wonder if we can get Ford to make breakfast cereals... they never have recalls or cheated on emissions... Oh BTW Some Bible fellowship has predicted the end of the world on Wed Oct 7th, 2015... carp!! that's only a few hours away... so none of this matters anyways! :S
