I personally love my F350. Are you looking at SRW or DRW? I've had two Ford DRW diesels and still have the new '13. The sky is NOT falling. All manufacturers have trouble with certain aspects of their vehicles. Remember, the main reason people go to a forum is to search out and comment on a problem. On EVERY truck forum out there, there are many more people happy with their trucks than complain about them. Good luck in your decision. Like has been said before, drive them all and get the one you like. I did!

Objective opinion from an anti-brand-loyalist:

Drive a Ram, drive a GM, drive a Ford, and if you still like the Ford best, buy it. If you fall for a Ram or GM, buy that.

Yes there have been some extremely well documented 6.7L pump failures and some other issues that have arisen but as you'll be under warranty (hopefully without the horrible situation ricatic endured) I wouldn't be afraid of it.

I read a great thought on the forums yesterday: someone said (paraphrasing) that he could stay in bed all day and have very slim odds of having something bad happening, or he could go out and enjoy life, do things he likes, and just accept that the odds of something crazy happening went way up by choosing to get out of bed.

I think not buying a 6.7L Super Duty solely for fear of pump failure is equivalent to staying in bed all day.

Now, a late model used diesel out of warranty? That's a different story and may justify pulling the covers over one's head LOL.

Yep in a F350 HD thread. Guess he thinks the new RAM 1500 will be on par with the F350.

Good technicality catch LOL. The Cummins 6.7 in the RAM still employs a CP3 fuel pump though :). Another weird feature of the VM Motori motor is that it uses a Solenoid Actuated injector versus Piezo Crystal. Should be cheaper to repair when the pump eventually goes?
