I've watched a fair amount of those guys' videos, and noted that accuracy on specs is not a high point. Recently they got it totally wrong on a half ton comparison, calling their test truck with 3.55 gears the best tow vehicle offered by that domestic manufacturer.Me Again wrote:
You will have to point us to where it states the RAM had the Aisin tranny. They only show that the RAM had 4.10 gears, which are the best tow gears. This is a marketing video, not a third party comparison.
The video states the test was conducted with the best towing packages the competition has to offer... Well we know it can't be a 68 tranny don't you?
In addition when this video was published the guy that started PickTrucks.com who now work's for Ford came to this forum and answered some questions about the Ford produced video. He stated the RAM was the 850lb/Aisin equipped truck.
Yeap and they said the Duramax had 3.37 gears! Chris - TurnThePageExplorer

............waiting on the Trollers story of neighbor's, sister's, friend's, brother-in-law's, trash collector that had a RAM 3500 that was really de-rated 4500 that had a catastrophic failure.......
Diesel Power Mag. published the same story and reminded the RAM fans to not get caught up in the marketing..eerrr truck labels. It was a response when the RAM fans were calling foul when a 3500 was compared to a 450 truck.
Forget the labels and move on! :W- Cummins12V98Explorer IIII think RAM made a true medium duty truck in the 3500 dually and kept the GVWR to 14K so it is still a pickup. They actually made huge improvements all thru the truck to actually back up their claims. What a concept!

Do you think that RAM engineering acted on what they learned in 2011 with the RAM Long hauler??
Ram Long Hauler
I was thinking the '13 RAM and the LH were two parallel projects developed at the same time. I suspect cost and a limited market was the reason it never got the green light.- rhagfoExplorer IIIDo you think that RAM engineering acted on what they learned in 2011 with the RAM Long hauler??

"Marketing Strategy"?? Really...A 3500 is a 4500?? Having driven a derated 4500, I'm here to say..uh ....no...BUT appearantly you're the expert on Ram trucks, or if there is some way to rip the truck, or rag on Ram truck owners, you're there in all your glory doing all that you can to belittle the lowly Ram trucks...I mean they rank third in sales among the big 3...can't hold a candle to a Ford.....I won't talk about Chevy and D/A, seeing as how it upsets you for me to talk about my experience with Chevy since 75', but I understand...."low guy on the totem pole" does half way decent in something and let's think of other way's to demean them.....Nice agenda FishOnOne.....sort of like me in a way...most everyone knows what I'm going to say on most topics and most everyone knows what you'll say when the topic has anything to do with Dodge/Ram trucks......
NC,
Your always welcomed to point out facts or experience that may conflict with mine, and I won't throw you under the bus when I may disagree.
