Ford has used the same twin turbine turbo from '11-'14 models and the '15 will use a single larger turbine.
I will say the twin turbine turbo doesn't shine in high altitudes or exhaust brake (BTW neither are needed here in Texas), but let me tell you it shines with very little turbo lag and the truck takes off like a rocket really quick with or without a load. :B
Sorry Troy but you're incorrect. You see, the first gen had problems just like the 4.X pumps. So they started the second gen turbo's that are super balanced.
Here is a little reading for you to refresh your memory. :B
BTW about the turbo lag issue. Chevy does not have any with their single turbo. In fact the Dmax wasted the 6.4 Ford twin turbo in off the line performance and killed the 6.7 in the mountain test.
Like I said, first place looser. :B
33 miles an hour for the Ram and 36 miles an hour for the Ford compared to 44 for the Chevy. After that embarrassment I suspect that Ford and Ram is really going to jack the fuel up on the next test. We will see.
Wonder how that bigger snail is going to work down low for Ford? Woopsee, there goes the bottom end! :B Maybe they will fix that with a 4,500 RPM converter. :B I say they will win that test yet!
