Manufacturers will always make some changes for constant improvements or cost reductions to name a couple.

The '11-'14 trucks did not receive a new generation turbo.

RAM added a cleaning port to their turbo's do to soot build so the cleaning process could be simplified, but that wasn't a new generation turbo either! :W
