I think these pull offs are important. Whether you believe personally in the methodology behind the test, everyone wants their favorite to win. Does that translate into sales? I don't know that there are any stats out there showing that, but certainly it makes a difference in creating a buzz about performance capability. These pull offs have become a big deal on Utube. Just look at the number of hits they get and the diesel forums of all OEMs have threads on the topic everytime a new one is released. These comparos certainly have an impact on the market. Just because Ford continues to sell more diesels than the other two doesn't mean that these pull offs don't result in the gain or loss of sales depending on how a certain truck performs.
