- larry_barnhartExplorerIt was said the 2nd trailer was causing a bounce.
chevman - tsetsafExplorer IIII found it interesting how much they were bouncing around in the seats. Wonder what they are scaling?
- larry_barnhartExplorerI seem to remember the last test had a horse trailer behind the Ram. This time it showed the same double trailer set up as the GM's test. I guess more fun to come.

My guess is it is slightly slower than the duramax but in reality we are only talking a few mph slower on maybe 2% of the towing people do. So the difference might add up to what a half hour slower over the life of the vehicle. Who cares.
You would be right, the Ram was slower LINK of the test with the time of 10:12 but 5.9 MPG and 7.6 MPG round trip, something the Ford and GM/Chevy cant do.

Exactly. I will stick with the inline 6 cylinder even though it may be a few seconds slower because I know it will still be running like new in 300k miles! - larry_barnhartExplorerMy friend had an 06 F-350 6 liter srw and towed a 37ft 4 slide fifth and he has told me several times that the mountain on this test did not slow him down. I want you to understand I did not believe him.
chevman - ksssExplorerIt will be interesting to see what ratio they use to run the hill. They could optimize the run with a low set of gears (4.11) or try to match the middle of the road 3.73 like the Dmax runs. I think in order to effectively compare they will need to run 3.73. If I was a Dodge fan I would like to see the 4.11's as that will give them the best time up the hill, I believe.
- TargaExplorerI was surprised at how fast it went through that tunnel.:)
- larry_barnhartExplorerThe best part about climbing a mountain is getting to the top not the speed. Also holding the throttle to the floor is not how we tow but we are not testing . fun to watch.
