I can guarantee you they can and do track every employee price sale. The first thing you do as a dealer after delivery of any vehicle is to report that sale to the factory whether it is an employee sale or not. All of the pertinent information pertaining to the sale is reported. This is how they also track warranty.
Any employee that wishes to extend the employee price discount to eligible participants must request a voucher and supply the name and the relationship to the employee. Some classes of GM employees do receive a limited number of vouchers to use for "friends" that do not normally qualify, on an occasional basis.
If the dealer does not report the sale properly and assure the buyer is eligible, he can be and often is "charged back" the incentive he is paid to sell the vehicle at that price. I have paid the penalty well into six figures on a technicality when audited.
Having operated dealerships in a GM town and sold thousands of GM employee deals, I guarantee you they know exactly who they are selling to and paying the dealer for.
I just bought my 2015 3500 HD Sierra Denali with GM Employee Discount. $7,000 off Sticker plus $2,000 dollar rebate.
My brother is the employee. A few years ago all you needed was the social security number. One of my other brothers step son used it. GM investigated and was going to fine my brother the employee. But the dealership that allowed it took care of it because it was their fault. My brother was suspended from using the discount for 2 years. - mich800Explorer

Save yourself the carpel tunnel. It does not matter the facts in this case. Someone that requests a employee or friends and family discount and than proceeds to let the same employees they don't know what they are talking about is a losing debate. - JALLEN4Explorer

Thats it? $3500. Wow thats what my supplier pricing discount is. Or do you mean $3500 on top of the $3500 of supplier for a total of $7k? - DelawareCamperExplorerGM employee is $3500 and you get all the other discounts,, I get supplier discount just for showing up in a GM dealership,,, I can get the Employee discount for Ram if I want a Ram truck, which I dont.

you go and pay full price if you want,, I give discounts all the time to people,, get a life if you cant contribute anything positive,,, your like the weight police,,, always commenting on something you know NOTHING about,,, get a life,,, I'll get my discount,,, and be happy with it...
LOL....How old are you? If you don't know how to negotiate that's not our problem. I get discounts on everything from Hyundai to Mercedes and everything in between. They are a good price, but not the best price. Anyone can get GM supplier pricing with just a little negotiating. You can also get down to a couple hundred within employee pricing by even being a better negotiator. No magic numbers needed.
For some brands like Ram, the difference between affinity rewards pricing and employee price is only around $1500. Also you only get to keep the factory discounts. Not dealer discounts. It can actually cost you more to use the friends program than just take the every other month $10-12K off sales price. - DelawareCamperExploreryou go and pay full price if you want,, I give discounts all the time to people,, get a life if you cant contribute anything positive,,, your like the weight police,,, always commenting on something you know NOTHING about,,, get a life,,, I'll get my discount,,, and be happy with it...

I can tell right now you are one of those guys that only care about themselves. No way I would be sharing anything with you. You would probably turn your own kids in if they gave you another $1000 off. - DelawareCamperExploreri'm not trying to argue with anyone,,
