I have a new 2015 silverado. It is a crew cab with the 5.8 bed. It also is a 4x4 with max tow. For the life of me I can't find the payload of the truck. I've looked all over the internet and see varying answers. A little help would be appreciated. Thanks, Keith

Should be a sticker inside the drivers door, on the door post.

Get off the internet for this one and look on the truck for the actual payload. There should be a loading sticker on the drivers door jamb. Look for a line that say "the weight of passengers and cargo should not exceed...." That number is your actual payload as it left the factory.

Yellow sticker, should say "passengers and cargo should not exceed xxxx lbs". That is the payload applied for your truck at the factory as it rolled out the door before any dealer or aftermarket options installed.

If you add things after mfg. The payload changes from sticker. Typical culprits are gooseneck or fifth wheel hitch or both. Tonneau cover. Ride Rite airbags and compressor. Nerf or step bars. Look at your trucks GVWR (most 2500s are 10000# for instance). Load up the truck as it will be for a trip (passengers, full tank gas, wife, kids, dog) and drive over to a truck stop and get a CAT scale weight ticket. Subtract that true weight from the trucks GVWR. My trucks GVWR sticker says 10000#. Sticker indicates payload 2512#. When I did the CAT my true payload is 2230#. I have added all those things I listed above and the took away almost 300# of my payload available to me for a fifth wheel pinweight.
