2015 Tahoe/Suburban 4x4 payload

I can't find the payload on the Chevrolet site. Does anyone know where can I find it?

I did find the following on Edmunds which is interesting. Suburban had lower payload than Tahoe but it seems that has changed. Note that they don't make 2500 anymore since last year, I think.

Tahoe 2014 1606 lbs
Tahoe 2015 1715 lbs

Suburban 2014 1580 lbs
Suburban 2015 1796 lbs

  • Both 'half ton' Tahoe and Suburban use the same drive train/suspension and most
    other components

Just streeeeeeeeetched a Tahoe to add the extra length

So that lessens the payload because one has more sheetmetal, glass, etc
    against similar/same GVWR

On that note, the two Suburban's use the exact same body, but one is a +7K GVWR
while the other is a +8K GVWR with different drive train and suspension
  • Just curious, I will wait at least a couple of years before doing that. I don't like buying first years of a new generation - there are always some bugs to fix.

On a related note I hate going to dealerships. It's hard to find one that you can trust.
  • I would start at a dealer lot with something similarly equipped to what you want. I have never met a brochure/web site accurately reflect payload for a model/trim level I was researching. There should be plenty selection of 2015 models at every GM dealer by now.
  • The Edmunds numbers are fictional, they are "best case" towing options; HD towing package, largest available engine, tallest gears available (3:42 for 'Burb/Tahoe), and no 4WD.

If you are looking at them, the payload is on the door sticker and is based on the RPO options list in the glove box.
