Maybe $6-7k real world more, but the better mileage and improved resale negates that additional up front expense. The cost difference is a wash overall and very overblown.
To me a gas DRW makes little sense. If you're towing enough to require a DRW, you're towing enough that a gas truck is going to struggle and it won't be a very pleasant experience.
