Our 2001 8.1 chev dully towed our 35 ft alpenlite very well and just because we traded for the 05 duramax that is better plus with better mileage but I really liked the gas better driving solo in Casa Grande az for 6 months. Not sure of a smaller engine being as good so diesel is the way to go if the buyer wants gas.
Diesel changed to a higher price per gallon at the time we picked up our truck in Dec of 2004.
